Pachi-Pachi from Cuppage Plaza
Wednesday, November 19th, 2008Official website: http://www.pachipachi-orchard.com/index.html (but not working)
Hot okonomiyaki served with beni shoga(pickled ginger) as topping. The aroma is irresistible. Located at level 1 of Cuppage Plaza, I was simply attracted into it.
Mix okonomiyaki with pork, otopus and squid. Aroma companied with the very crispy bits is what made it stand out from other okonomiyaki. Pork added extra flavors to the sauces. And the chewyness of otopus and squid goes well with the crispy bits.
Sultan Kebab
Monday, October 6th, 2008Their website is on the 1st pix if you didn’t see it
Located at Peace Center, operated by two Turkish. Sultan Kebab sells Turkish kebab and other stuff like sandwiches and tortillas. From the 2nd level, I already smelled the fragrance. More than 15min was actually taken to follow the scent to the shop. I wanted to try their beef. However I guess I was too late. They start their business at 11am. And around lunch time, I should be there for their for beef. Their chicken are great too. Deep in tomato and other spies with cubes of breads surround the chicken. It’s fragrance was well served with the plain yogurt at the side. The chance for a revisit is 100%!
Pudding from Tampopo Deli Liang Court
Tuesday, August 12th, 2008On national day, I had a chain of activities. Having dessert at Tampopo Deli was one of the delighthful one. Tampopo reopened after a renovation. I had not regret for paying $3.20 for just a cup of custard pudding.
By appearance, it’s not that appealing as those well-served ones in resturant. Being in a cup, I can’t shake to test it’s softness.
Companied by some caramel to give a another kind of sweetness with some bitterness and smoothness. For those who mind that little bit of bitterness, caramel is best to be omitted.
Misjudged by appearance, I was surprised when the pudding dissolved when I shut my mouth. Its quality is by far the best I ever had. I wanted to try another favor. But I have in mind that it doesn’t come cheap for me.
Super Red Rambutan
Monday, July 21st, 2008At the submit of certain hill is a land of free tropical fruits. Fruits that are easily reachable are usually not there anymore. For me, I know of a secret place that isn’t easily accessible, yet not that hardly accessible. Beyond the roof of a structure is a roof of big red rambutans. In the end, we stocked up more than half a pail.
I only brought 5 rambutan home despite that it’s me who climbed up to harvest. I thought its fun though. I had the fun while they had the yield. I don’t like ramtuban so here are some comments from my friends:
Boy A: Even they aren’t 100% rip (refering to the greenish ones), they are sweeter than those in the market. (60% of the share)
Boy B: Wow. So big and so sweet. (35% of the share and I’m left with 5%)
“real japanese”: I don’t eat rambutan. (0%)
Lady X: Very fleshy and doesn’t stick to the shell. (recieved 1% from me)
